This policy explains how KingdomJob collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
KingdomJob is operated by OUROPT LTD (trading as KingdomJob), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17407112, registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. OUROPT LTD is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC231186.

What data we collect
- Account data — email address, password (handled by our authentication provider, never stored in plain text by us), optional full name, headline, country and phone number. Phone numbers are encrypted at rest.
- Saved jobs and saved searches — the vacancies you bookmark and the searches you save, including alert preferences.
- CVs — files you upload (PDF, DOC or DOCX), stored privately and never shared unless you choose to use them in an application.
- Contact messages — name, email, subject and message content when you write to us, together with a hashed IP address for abuse prevention.
- Consent receipts — anonymous records of cookie-consent decisions (random ID, categories chosen, country code where available).
- Click events — when you click through to apply for a job we record the job, the destination and a truncated hash derived from your browser and IP. We do not store your account identity or raw IP address with click events.
- Server logs — standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use your data (lawful bases)
- Providing the service (performance of a contract) — running your account, saved jobs, searches, alerts and CV storage.
- Security and abuse prevention (legitimate interests) — rate limiting, hashed-IP abuse records, audit logs.
- Responding to enquiries and data-rights requests (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
- Optional cookies and advertising (consent) — analytics and advertising run only where you have opted in.
- Legal obligations — records we must keep by law, and establishing or defending legal claims.
Who processes your data
- Supabase — database and authentication, hosted in an EU region.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, security and bot screening (including Turnstile).
- SMTP email provider — transactional email such as verification and alert messages.
- Job feed providers — when you click to apply for a vacancy you leave KingdomJob and the provider's own privacy policy applies to what happens next.
How long we keep data
Account data, saved jobs, saved searches and CVs are kept until you delete them or close your account. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months. Consent receipts are kept for up to 5 years as evidence of consent. Click events are anonymised and kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are rotated within 90 days. Security audit logs are retained for up to 7 years where required to protect the service.
International transfers
Our primary database is hosted in the EU. Where a processor handles data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on UK GDPR safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to EU standard contractual clauses, or an adequacy regulation.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. Many of these are self-service: you can export or delete your data from your account Settings, or use our data-rights page for any request. We respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint).
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, summarised in our Cookie policy, where you can also change or withdraw your consent at any time.
